~ N i q u i ~

Hello there once again. I would like to introduce to you Niqui. She is a Filipina-Kenyan lady whom I recently had a chance to photograph. Katrina, Manny Librodo’s goddaughter, was the one who brought Niqui to the shoot. Though it was her first time to join in, she acted as if she’s been modeling for quite some time. We all had fun that day. Plus, I was glad to have met another photographer friend, Jun Madayag, who is based Hongkong. He was here to attend a workshop by Mr. Manny Librodo, an internationally known Filipino Digital Photographer. By the way, Katrina and Marise were our MUA and stylist that day.

I took a lot of photos that day and I already have many ideas on how to process them. Please come back soon to see more of Niqui pictures set in a forest! Just click the READ MORE link at the bottom of the photo if ever you see one.

A Chok Chai Panorama

One afternoon I went out to capture a panorama of a lake near our place. It’s not huge but people like going there to hang out with friends and family. So, I took my Manfrotto tripod with me that is a must by the way if you want to create a panorama or a photo stitching.

I took at least 4-5 shots of each view while rotating my camera from one point to the other. This is my first time to try it out by the way. Even though I already have a software for it since a year before.

Anyway, tried working on it using my 4 year old eMac – who is still doing fine by the way. Then I moved on to PS to add some gradient color and voila! I hope you like it.

Anticipation… Art in Creation

Human beings are incurably artistic, and we – as individuals, as groups, as a civilization – need an artistic resource.” Anticipation” is not just a tool for Bangkok’s artists. It is about the hard work of fresh, innovative, bold, and creative thinking by the founder of Artist Society, Amie Cal. She envisions that this event will lead to the creation of an authentic impact on culture and the community. It will be a catalyst for the cross-pollination of the various mediums and forms of arts, resulting in an entirely new experience for the artists and the audience. There will be no universal description for the ‘Otherside’ of this event. For the new audience and art enthusiasts alike, Anticipation will enrich the soil that nourishes their artistic curiosity. All the senses will be satisfied, including the existential sensibility revealed through a deep sigh from somewhere within the soul. ‘Anticipation’ will be a powerful reminder that, “…art, by its very nature, is an experience of sharing. Thus we listen, we watch, and we allow ourselves to be part of this ongoing creation of that which is good and beautiful. That which serves to help those who have less materially is of natural consequence. When one’s soul is filled, one reaches out to nourish others – both body and soul.”

Angie Stoneking

Introducing Angie Stoneking, a very young and talented model and singer. I shot these photos as a test shoot for an upcoming Manny Librodo workshop in which we helped to coordinate.

I thought of something different this time. Instead of doing a grunge technique, I decided to go on a bluish and greenish look. Tweak the saturation as well to help desaturate the photo. What you think? Do you like it desaturated too?

I have added more photos of Angie inside this post.

Patterns and Buddhism

The color of this image attracted me. But I know if I take this one picture it would just be another Buddha image. So, I decided to look for other point of views that will make this photos more interesting and unique. I really like what I have done on this one. The patterns, the flow of lines and the shadows combined together can really make a difference.
