Focusing on Portraits, Commercial and recently, Fashion Photography, Jose has been commissioned by individuals and groups from France, Italy, Germany, India, Bangladesh, Qatar, Hongkong, Singapore, Dubai, Nigeria and the US, to name a few. They describe his work as both dynamic and arresting.
Jose Tan’s pursuit of this visual art form is borne out of his passion for it since the time he got his first camera when he was about 16. Now that he has a family, his photography has evolved into a career, with his daughter, Tyra, now 10, fast following in his footsteps. Tyra likes to model for her dad and to take photos at the same time. At home, she uses her Barbie dolls as her canvass – designing clothes for them, as well as putting on them make up. She hopes to study art in Australia in the future, with her best friend, Hannah.
Jose’s 6-year-old son is equally set on a career for himself in the future. He says he wants to become a car racer, a bug scientist and a dinosaur expert (he already is one now!). In the meantime, he occupies his time by working on awesome Lego creations and coming up with original concepts such as these “Monster Frog” poses.
